Once upon a time, in a dungeon far, far away, the kinkiest writers in the land were summoned to pervert beloved fairy tales with dominance, submission, bondage, and surrender. In these stories twisted princesses take control of their submissive princes, witches play with power exchange, and fairies come to visit our dungeons. Erotic retellings of fairy tales for adults have been popular for decades; in Leather Ever After they get decidedly kinky twists. The Circlet Press edition of this anthology includes includes a new foreword by Laura Antoniou and 18 delicious stories by award-winning and lauded writers including DL King, Lee Harrington, Raven Kaldera, Mollena Williams, and editor Sassafras Lowrey. When I stumbled across Sassafras Lowrey’s call for reviewers of “Leather Ever After” on Twitter, I thought, “this could be super cool!” I also thought, “these are probably wicked hot and I like that!” I may have also thought, “Wow, Sassafras Lowrey?! I’m basically DMing with a superstar!”

The title, “Leather Ever After,” immediately made me smile. I mean, the leather community and a play on words…who saw that coming?! When I first received my review copy I loosely went through it to get an idea of the layout. I quickly recognized names like Lee Harrington and Laura Antoniou and I knew I was in for a treat. Now at the beginning I thought I’d easily and quickly be able to identify which traditional fairy tale each of the sexy new ones is based on. That ended up not being the case. I think partially because some of the authors were inspired by tales that I’d not heard and also because they really put their own sauce on these well known tales.

There are 18 exceptional stories in this anthology. I’m going to share my thoughts on two that stayed with me days after! This in no way should take away from the others. They are all remarkable pieces.
